A trading company, not a broker.

We take title to the cargo, carry the price and credit risk, and answer for the delivery. That is the difference between arranging a trade and owning one.

The company

Built for the middle of the supply chain.

Headlinks (Malta) Limited is a privately held physical commodity trading company registered in Malta. We trade crude oil and the full range of refined petroleum products, working between the refiners and producers who have barrels and the distributors, industrial users and resellers who need them.

The company was formed around a simple observation: in the small- and mid-sized cargo market, the constraint is rarely the availability of product. It is finding a counterparty who can price it honestly, fix the freight, satisfy a bank on the paperwork and still be there when a laycan slips or a quality certificate comes back off-spec.

We therefore built the company around execution rather than volume. Our team handles origination, chartering, operations and documentation in-house, so a counterparty deals with the people who will actually be responsible for the cargo — not a desk that passes the file on once the deal is agreed.

Placeholder note. Company history, founding year, shareholder structure and team biographies should be supplied by the company and will replace this copy.
Vision

To be the counterparty that mid-market energy buyers can rely on.

The largest trading houses are structured for the largest cargoes. We aim to bring the same standards of contracting, compliance and operational discipline to the cargo sizes and markets that sit below them — where the service gap is widest and the relationship matters most.

Mission

Move the right barrel to the right berth, on terms both sides can bank.

We do that by pricing transparently against published benchmarks, contracting in writing before the vessel is fixed, verifying quality and quantity independently, and settling on instruments our counterparties' banks will accept without argument.

How we operate

Five principles we do not trade away.

Physical trading is a business of repeat counterparties. The way a company behaves on a difficult cargo is what decides whether there is a second one.

01

Integrity in the paperwork

The contract, the certificates and the bill of lading say what actually happened. We do not re-paper a cargo to make it easier to sell.

02

Know the counterparty

Full KYC, beneficial ownership and sanctions screening before an offer is made — and a willingness to walk away from business that will not clear it.

03

Price against the benchmark

Pricing formulae reference published assessments — Platts, Argus or the relevant exchange — so both sides can verify the number independently.

04

Hedge the exposure

Flat price risk on open positions is hedged. We are in the business of margin on movement, not of taking a directional view with a client's cargo.

05

Safety is not negotiable

Vessels are vetted, terminals are qualified, and no commercial deadline justifies loading a cargo on tonnage or at a berth that does not meet standard.

06

Answer the phone

When a laycan slips, a certificate is contested or a vessel is delayed, the person who agreed the trade is the person who picks up.

Jurisdiction

Why the company sits in Malta.

EU member state. Trading from within the Union means EU sanctions, customs and environmental rules apply directly — the compliance position our European counterparties and their banks expect.

English-language commercial law. Maltese commercial law draws heavily on English law, and contracts, correspondence and court proceedings are in English. Counterparties recognise the terms they are signing.

A maritime economy. Malta operates one of the largest ship registers in the world and has an established base of shipping agents, bunker suppliers, marine surveyors and admiralty lawyers on the island.

Position. The island sits on the Suez–Gibraltar lane, within short steaming distance of North African load ports and Southern European discharge ports.
